The Australian Institute of Credit Management was founded in 1937,
incorporated in 1967, has approximately 4000 members and is the focal
point in Australia for those engaged in the credit profession.
Goals
Because the AICM is an individual professional Institute, the primary
responsibility is to:
- Raise the status of the credit profession and the members.
- Improve the performance of members in discharging their professional
obligations to their employers through education and information exchange.
- Attract new members into the Institute from government, industry,
commerce and other professions.
- Encourage a greater involvement by members in the management and
activities of the Institute.
Programs and Services
AICM promotes and encourages the growth and advancement of the credit
profession through a variety of programs and services, which include:
- National Conference held every 2nd year in a differnt State location.
- Division (State) Conferences held annually.
- Educational seminars, forums, workshops.
- Functions with guest speakers relevant to the industry - ongoing.
- Publications. A national magazine "Credit Management in Australia" is
published 5 times per annum.
- Liaison with appropriate industry bodies and government.
- Continuing professional education programs at the entry, supervisory
and senior management level.
- Specialised award programs recognising excellence among credit
professionals.
