Aktiv Kapital entered yesterday into an agreement with one of the leading Spanish banks to purchase a portfolio of non-performing consumer loans and credits. The portfolio consists of approx. 13,000 accounts with a principle value in excess of EUR 85 million (interest and costs to be added).
This is the third portfolio Aktiv Kapital is acquiring in Spain this year. The portfolio will be managed by Aktiv Kapital’s own subsidiary in Spain. By entering into this agreement it is the intention of the parties to create a frame agreement that will make further sales in 2006 possible.
In Switzerland Aktiv Kapital agreed yesterday to acquire a portfolio with a total balance of approx. CHF 80 mill. and 3,800 accounts from one of the world’s largest issuers of consumer credits. This is an international portfolio with mainly non-Swiss residents. The accounts will be managed by Aktiv Kapital’s Swiss operation, and will also be outsourced throughout the Aktiv Kapital Group.
Aktiv Kapital has also this week entered into an agreement to purchase a smaller mortgage-portfolio in Germany with a balance of EUR 11.5 mill and 175 accounts. The portfolio consists of non- and sub-performing loans which are all secured in residential real estate. Aktiv Kapital sees this portfolio as an interesting and important opportunity to test a new part of the market. This acquisition will also strengthen our position in the German market as we establish a specialised mortgage unit.
