FLA is pleased to announce that Harley Davidson Financial Services has become the latest business to join its Motor Finance Division.
Harley Davidson Financial Services, established a European operational base in Oxford in 2003, and embarked upon a plan to grow its retail financial services new business across the whole of Europe through a series of joint venture marketing agreements with key providers in each market.
Managing Director, Peter Sylvester, said:
“The Harley-Davidson brand is very strong in its own right – sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in Europe grew 21% in 2005. By developing fully branded financial services products, including retail finance, insurance and credit cards, we are able to reach out and discover new customer segments which have previously not been open to us.”
FLA’s Director-General, Martin Hall, welcomed the news:
“We are delighted to welcome Harley Davidson Financial Services into the FLA. Harley Davidson is a brand with which we are proud to be associated.”
Peter Sylvester added that:
“We are continuing to develop the commercial brand globally. With its sophisticated approach to consumer financing, the UK is at the very heart of such an expansion strategy. We are therefore hoping to continue to learn by adding the knowledge which FLA membership will make available to us, and apply it in both the UK and the rest of Europe, as well as to benefit from FLA’s lobbying expertise and its wide range of member services.“
