IVA.co.uk, Britain’s biggest online IVA community for information and advice about Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs), has announced that the IVA.co.uk Debt Evening is to be held on the 1st August 2007.
Earlier this year, IVA.co.uk held the highly successful IVA.co.uk Great Debt Debate (http://tv.iva.co.uk/great_debt_debate.asp). IVA.co.uk Debt Evenings are now held quarterly with the first of these events on the 2nd May (http://debtevening.iva.co.uk/)
The Debt Evening will focus on recent topical debt related issues, with industry specific views and comments, pre-empting industry change alongside national and international economic analysis. Research will also be presented, including into a mori poll into public perceptions of debt and the IVA process.
The event will be chaired by Dr James Bellini, a broadcaster and futurist with a long television career, including presenting The Money Programme, Newsnight and Panorama.
Previous chairs for the evening have included Anthony Hilton, Financial Editor of the Evening Standard and Peter Hobday, formerly of the Today program
The expert panel will be made up of
Mark Allen is a partner at Grant Thornton. He is responsible for the National IVA service line and is a chartered accountant.
Vincent Cable is the MP for Twickenham and regular commentator on government policy regarding debt
Dr Karl Taylor is the reader in economics at the University of Sheffield and also on the Editorial Board of Economic Issues.
Jonathan Said is a senior economist at the CEBR (Centre for Economics and Business Research) and contributes to macroeconomic analysis and forecasting. Pat Boyden, is a specialist partner at PriceWaterHouseCoopers and is regarded an expert in bankruptcies and insolvency.
The IVA.co.uk Debt Evening will take place at Browns Courtrooms in Covent Garden 82-84 St Martins Lane, London, WC2N 4AA
Doors open at 6.30pm and the debate will take place from 7pm-8pm. Wine and finger food will be served before and after the event.
The event will be filmed and screened on IVA.co.uk’s popular online television channel, IVA TV (tv.iva.co.uk)
